An online store asked us to turn its product catalogue into sales. We connected the Meta pixel and conversion tracking, ran catalogue ads that show each shopper the products they are most likely to buy, and brought back people who viewed or added to cart with customized offers. The goal from day one: the lowest possible cost for every add to cart. Client name and campaign names are hidden; every figure comes straight from Meta Ads Manager.
- 5,902website adds to cart
- EGP 12.33lowest cost per add to cart
- EGP 2.82per product view
The setup
Catalogue ads only work as well as the data behind them. Before spending a pound we installed the Meta pixel, set up the standard e-commerce events — view content, add to cart, initiate checkout and purchase — matched them to the product catalogue, and checked that every product had the right price, photo and link. That tracking is what lets Meta learn who buys, and lets us judge every campaign by real cost per result.
| Objective | Results | Spend (EGP) | Cost per result (EGP) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best catalogue campaign | 1,635 adds to cart | 20,165 | 12.33 |
| Top 5 catalogue campaigns | 5,452 adds to cart | 78,793 | 14.45 |
| Product views (catalogue) | 1,905 views | 5,377 | 2.82 |
| Retargeting — customized offer chats | 71 conversations | 1,176 | 16.56 |
| All catalogue campaigns | 5,902 adds to cart | 99,999 | 16.94 |
Catalogue ads
The right product, to the right shopper.
Instead of one ad for everyone, catalogue ads pull products straight from the store and show each person the items they browsed or are most likely to want. We tested product sets, formats and audiences, then moved budget week by week to the campaigns with the lowest cost per add to cart — down to EGP 12.33.

Pixel & tracking
Every product view counted.
With the pixel firing correctly, a product view cost EGP 2.82 — and every viewer joined an audience we could bring back later. Clean tracking is also what let Meta optimize for adds to cart instead of cheap clicks.

Retargeting
A customized offer to finish the sale.
Shoppers who viewed products or left items in the cart saw a second ad with an offer made for them — and a button to message the store. Those conversations cost EGP 16.56 each and came from people who already knew exactly what they wanted.

The result
5,902 adds to cart, from EGP 12.33.
Catalogue ads, a properly installed pixel and retargeting with customized offers worked as one system: product views at EGP 2.82, adds to cart from EGP 12.33 and an average of EGP 14.45 across the five best campaigns — with clear tracking so every pound goes to what sells.
